3. How We Earn Commissions

We earn commissions when:

• You click an affiliate link on our site and purchase a different product during the same session (Amazon Associates pays commissions on all qualifying purchases made within 24 hours of clicking our link, not only the linked product)

We do not earn commissions from:

• Purchases made after the qualifying window expires
• Products you return for a refund

4. Our Editorial Independence Commitment

• Buyer satisfaction (15%) — synthesis of verified buyer reviews across major retail platforms, analysed for common praise and complaint themes
• Design and dignity (10%) — whether the product can blend into a home environment without looking institutional, and whether users are likely to actually use it

Scores are assigned by the HomeIndependenceGuide.com research team and reviewed periodically as new buyer feedback and product updates become available.

6. Our AI Review Tool

The AI-powered product review tool on our Trusted Reviews page and homepage generates summaries by synthesising patterns from buyer review data. It is not a verbatim reproduction of individual reviews.

• The tool is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI model via a secure server-side API connection
• The tool does not generate paid or sponsored content — results are not influenced by affiliate relationships
• AI-generated summaries reflect general buyer sentiment patterns and should be used as a starting point for research, not as a substitute for reading individual reviews or consulting a healthcare professional for medical decisions
• We do not receive compensation from any brand for favourable AI-generated summaries

7. What We Will Never Do

• Accept money to publish a positive review or suppress a negative one
• Recommend a product we believe is unsafe or unsuitable for our readers
• Alter our editorial scores based on commission rates
